CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 380-325 BC. Diobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.17 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with a hippocamp with curved wings on the bowl; below chin, Λ. Rev. TAPANTINΩN Herakles standing slightly turned to right, strangling the Nemean lion; between Herakles' legs, Κ; in field to left, club and bow. HN Italy 914. SNG ANS 1374 var. (A on obverse). Vlasto 1271-4 var. (A on obverse). Nicely toned. Tiny marks and with minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
